Terms & Conditions for Private Voice Lessons

Please take a moment to read through these policies, and feel free to reach out with any questions before booking your lessons.

General Policies

1. Health and Safety

  • In-Person Lessons: To keep everyone safe, please avoid attending in-person lessons if you are feeling unwell. Singing involves lots of breathing and projection, which can spread germs quickly.

  • Online Option for Illness: If you’re experiencing symptoms, let’s move your session online instead. You’re welcome to return in person once you’re feeling better.

2. Studio Arrival

  • Please arrive on time for your lesson. If you’re early, feel free to wait outside or in your car until your scheduled time.

3. Inclement Weather or Unexpected Situations

  • If we can’t meet in person due to bad weather or other unexpected events, we’ll switch to a virtual session so we don’t miss out.

Faith-Based Focus

  • Lessons offered by Jasmine Diaz Vocal Coaching may incorporate practices and discussions aligned with worship and ministry. These may include prayer, song interpretation, worship leader, and fostering spiritual inspiration through music. Students are encouraged to communicate any specific worship-related goals or preferences at the start of their lessons to ensure the coaching experience aligns with their ministry objectives.

Payment Policy

1. Payment Timing:

  • All lessons must be paid for at the time of booking to secure your spot.

  • For lesson packages, you are required to schedule all four lessons upfront and pay for them in full upon booking. Lesson packages are not officially booked until full payment is received, unless prior arrangements have been made.

2. Prepayment Requirement:

  • All payments must be received in full before the start of the lesson or lesson package. Lessons without completed payments cannot proceed.

3. Accepted Payment Methods:

  • Payments can be made via Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal. Please ensure payments are sent promptly to avoid forfeiting your scheduled sessions.

4. Unpaid Lessons:

  • If a lesson or lesson package has been scheduled but not paid for, the lessons will be forfeited 24 hours before the first scheduled lesson date. This ensures that time slots are available for other clients.

5. Cancellations and Rescheduling:

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please follow the Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy. Payments for canceled lessons follow the guidelines outlined in that policy.

6. Receipts and Invoices:

  • Receipts are available upon request. If you need an invoice for reimbursement or personal records, please notify me when making your payment.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

1. 24-Hour Notice Required

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 24 hours’ notice. This applies to all situations, including illness.

  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, for any reason, will incur a rescheduling fee equal to 50% of the full lesson fee. This ensures your spot is reserved and helps maintain scheduling commitments. Rescheduling must be done within 14 days of the original appointment, subject to availability.

2. Flexible Online Alternatives

Feeling under the weather but still able to meet? Let’s do an online session! Even if singing isn’t possible, we can use the time productively with activities like:

  • Music theory

  • Breaking down worship songs with a biblical and personal perspective

  • Find new songs to work on

  • Practicing how to flow with hand signals

  • Finding ways to exhort during certain worship songs (Bible verses, personal testimonies, etc.)

3. Asynchronous Feedback Option

  • If you’re too unwell for a live session, you can send a 2–3 minute recording of your singing (once you’re feeling better), and I’ll provide feedback within 48 business hours.

4. Studio Cancellations

  • If I need to cancel a session, we’ll reschedule. If I don’t hear back from you within 7 days, refunds will not be provided.

5. Technical Issues During Virtual Lessons

  • If you experience any technical difficulties, let me know right away via text or email.

  • If you’re not in the virtual waiting room within 15 minutes of your scheduled start time and I don’t hear from you, the session will be considered used.

Refund Policy for Prepaid Lesson Packages

I strive to provide the best possible learning experience. If you’ve purchased a package of lessons and feel dissatisfied after the first session, I’m happy to work with you to find a resolution. Refund policies are designed to balance fairness to both the student and the studio, ensuring your time and expertise are respected. Here’s how refunds work for prepaid packages:

1. Refund After the First Lesson:

  • If you are dissatisfied after your first lesson and wish to discontinue, you may request a refund for the remaining lessons in the package.

  • The cost of the first lesson will be deducted at the standard single-session rate, and the remaining balance will be refunded.

2. Timing for Refund Requests:

  • Refund requests must be made within 48 hours of the first lesson. After this period, the package will be considered fully committed.

3. No Refunds After the Second Lesson:

  • Once the second lesson has taken place, refunds for the package are no longer available.

4. Alternative Solutions:

  • If you’re dissatisfied but open to continuing, we can discuss adjustments to better meet your learning needs, such as shifting focus, trying different techniques, or addressing specific concerns.

Refund Policy for Individual Lessons (1-3 Lessons)

  1. Refunds for unused, booked individual lessons are available if the request is made at least 7 days prior to the scheduled lesson. Refund requests made within 7 days of the lesson are not eligible.

  2. If you are unable to make your scheduled lesson, please use Calendly to reschedule in advance to avoid losing your session.

    • If you disagree with any feedback or feel dissatisfied with your lessons, you are encouraged to address these concerns directly and professionally. I am committed to working with you to find solutions that best meet your needs.

  5. Termination for Violations:

    • Jasmine Diaz Vocal Coaching reserves the right to terminate lessons immediately if a student engages in defamatory or hostile behavior. In such cases, no refunds will be issued, and future services may be denied.

Policy for Minors (Under 18 Years Old)

To ensure proper communication and consent, the following guidelines apply to students under 18 years old:

  1. Parental Supervision Policy

    • In-Person Lessons: A parent or legal guardian is encouraged to remain on-site during in-person lessons, whether at my studio, a church, or any other location. If the parent or guardian cannot be present or at least drop off the child at the lesson, they must provide written consent allowing their child to be alone with me during the session.

    • Online Lessons: For online lessons, a parent or guardian must be present in the home during the session. They do not need to participate in the lesson but should remain available nearby.

  2. Appropriate Behavior Policy:
Lessons are conducted in a professional and respectful environment. If inappropriate behavior occurs during a session, I reserve the right to terminate the lesson immediately without a refund.

  3. Photo/Video Consent (if applicable):
If lessons involve recording or photography (e.g., for progress tracking or promotional purposes), a separate consent form must be signed by the parent or guardian before any media is captured or used.

  4. Communication Policy:
All communication regarding scheduling, payments, or concerns must come directly from the parent or legal guardian, unless a specific arrangement has been made for the minor to handle their own lesson details.

  5. Liability Waiver:
Parents or legal guardians acknowledge that voice lessons involved physical and vocal exercises, and while every effort is made to ensure a safe and comfortable environment, there are inherent risks associated with these activities. By enrolling their child in lessons, parents agree that Jasmine Diaz and Jasmine Diaz Vocal Coaching are not liable or responsible for any injuries, accidents, or other risks that may occur during in-person, online, or other lesson-related activities.

  6. Cancellation/Refunds for Minors:
All cancellation and refund policies apply to lessons for minors. Parents or legal guardians are responsible for adhering to these policies, including rescheduling lessons or requesting refunds within the specified time frames. By enrolling their child in lessons, parents acknowledge and agree to these terms on behalf of the minor.

By booking and attending lessons, you agree to these policies. If a policy isn’t followed, lessons may need to be discontinued.

Thank you for choosing Jasmine Diaz Vocal Coaching. I’m excited to support you on your vocal journey!
